Brainstorm (1991)

So, we all know that Karswell over at The Horrors of it All is famed for posting the best in frightening horror comics. What some may not know is that he's starred in a few of them, himself! Pssst -- he's the one in the leather jacket!

The moment I laid eyes on BRAINSTORM, inked by Guy Burwell, I knew that I wanted it to appear among the piled corpses here at Killer Kittens From Beyond The Grave. The murders are so violent, so random, so precisely the way in which the slasher hero would commit them, if he weren't such a fine, upstanding citizen...

Put on your reading goggles, friends, and prepare to become more acquainted with Karswell, and his blood-spattered alter ego, The Comic Book Killer!!! Also, it looks like Jessie from HARD ROCK ZOMBIES has made a special cameo appearance as the Permed Dude on page 2... Enjoy!!!

************

... and when he wasn't spilling the blood of innocent passersby,
he could most often be found fondling his RAM.

That is indeed yours truly, during my long hair, leather jacket wearin' days '91! My partner in crime (in the story) is good friend Todd Hignite, famous creator of Comic Art Magazine and author of "In the Studio: Visits with Contemporary Cartoonists." More here:

(fyi: the permed dude on page 2 is actually a co-worker of ours from the record store we all worked at with Guy Burwell at the time he created this story. Actually, everyone we kill in the story was someone we knew, I forget the names but not the faces...)

And lastly, Guy Burwell is of course a bigtime gigposter phenom now residing in Portland... he is also inventor of all sortsa stuff you should probably just see to believe by visiting his site:

Thanks for posting this Shari! xXx

Eyeball: It's like grimoire given to St. Louis boys in Black Mass Class!

Grewbeard: You may want to consider taking out life insurance!

The mayhem, the madness, the bloodshed! Eeeeek!!! That's quite the body count Mr. K has got there over the course of so few pages. Well done! Thanks for sharing this gruesome goodie.

Totally off-topic here, but about the Tim Vigil story in that issue: "The Countess"? Gothic horror with an excess of blood and sex. Yum!

Indeed!! He's like Scrappy Doo!! The mild-mannered comic nerd thing is all a front.

Headless Werewolf: I don't have a copy of the full issue; I got the BRAINSTORM scans directly from Mr. Murderer. I'm intrigued!
