Last House on the Left: The Worst is Yet To Come!

I painted this in 2005, with one main objective: cover the hideous artwork on the massive canvas I got as a parting gift when the organization I was working for closed down. More importantly, I wanted to cover it with something bad ass. I had never painted anything in my life, but I was willing to give it a try.

It took me almost an entire month, and I must have listened to the A Night of Rehearsal: 20 Years Ago album by King Diamond's first band, The Black Rose, a thousand times over in the process of creating this giant piece of art.

You already know my feelings on this painting, but I shall re-elaborate here:

Hott Fucking Sex.

APPROVED.

I'm always the odd man out on this call but Last House is another Craven film I find to be somewhat overrated. Now your stylized painting is super freakin' cool though and looks great in your swinging pad!

Speaking of Hott Fucking Sex... I've been thinking about you hardcore today! I got to looking at the MS Paintings of our first fiasco together, and found myself l-l-longing for the good old days.

Dude, I totally miss you. It's nice to be around like-minded freaks (meaning "freaks" in, of course, the nicest possible way).

Kitty, Liebchen, your name came up in conversation only yesterday, in the out-loud real-life voice even ;) We should put our brains together for the betterment of nonsense everywhere, sooner rather than later. WATCH YOUR EMAIL. I am happy to be in your freak-company, trust me!

*curtsies to Karswell*

Re: my apartment, I guess it's now painfully obvious that I'm the kind of 29 year old who puts her Misfits-esque mittens (and giant paintings of gashed-up girls) out on full display. My Mom and Dad still love me, though.

Re: LHOTL, I (obviously) think this is Craven's best movie. I'm a die-hard fan of Nightmare 1 & 3 (so much fun), but LH stuck with me like no other horror film before or after it. For me, I think it was a combination of the low-budget shooting and effects (they had to keep it simple), and the fact that I couldn't help but put myself in the position of the victims. At the time, I was living in a rural area, and the location looked almost identical to my own surroundings. Weird shit happens in the middle of nowhere...

Speaking of nowhere, "The Road Leads To Nowhere," is such an epic horror track - bravo, David Hess. The original music was just one more element that pushed this film right up to the top of my list.

I actually haven't watched it all that many times (compared to others), because it still creeps me out that much. Maybe I'm just sensitive (but I doubt it), but it feels a teeny bit like I'm watching a snuff film. It's just so dead-on with the way that kind of sad, tragic thing goes down in reality (minus the parental revenge bit at the end; there seems to be very little vengeance in reality).

I pretty much just blew my entire load here, so no need to ever post an actual review, right? ;)

Kate, Liebchen, OMG!! I just watched The Witches last night, in which Anjelica Huston's cat is named Liebchen! Henceforth, I began calling my own cat Liebchen (it's in his contract).

Eerie co-incidences like this have been happening a lot to me lately. I am glad that a reasonable percentage of them involve you :)
